When Fools Rush In

What causes our brains to tell us that every life experience we're inviting into our life has to be experienced as quick as possible? Maybe it's the need to always know what's going to happen next because society has been conditioned to look forward to the "next best thing" and is told "the grass is always greener". But it isn't. Think about the last time you got ahead of yourself, a time when you thought the "upgrade" was going to be better but in fact it wasn't. How did you feel in that moment of realization? Whether you considered the situation a positive or negative experience you have continued to have that thought process haven't you? You still think that "maybe next time it will be better" don't you?

So when does it stop? When does the need to rush through our lives slow down so "tasting the finer things in life" becomes a reality and not just this thought we have that we think we will never achieve?

Make it a point today to pay attention to the speed at which you are going when doing anything.

Lately as I've been trying to "slow down" I've noticed just how many life activities that I am rushing through. It could be as simple as getting the kids into pajamas. I know that I can't make my children move any quicker. I also know that the more I try to make them move faster the slower they will be. So what is the point of me trying to pick up the pace? The process is usually more annoying to get the pj's on then normal and the struggle is continuous. Life is like changing a toddler. Sometimes it's more difficult and you almost give up but the product of your labor of love will be worth it.

I mean that makes sense right? Right.

What it really comes down to is that I shouldn't rush. You shouldn't either. Point being when you feel yourself rushing no matter what life experience you are in the middle of stop and consciously ask yourself "why am I rushing?"Also questions to ask yourself:

~Are the end results quality going to suffer because I am rushing?

~Am I going to get what I want, quicker, and in the shape I want it to be in by rushing?

~What am I trying to run from?

~If I'm not running from something what am I trying to run too?

~Why do I believe that the faster I go the quicker I will get what I want in life?

~What is it that I really want in life? Do I even know? What are my passions? What interests me? HOW CAN I BE HAPPY???

Whoa, whoa, slow down amigo. Only fools rush in. So don't be a fool. Be a beautiful soul that recognizes when they are rushing through life too quick and they need to slow down. Slow down and look for a positive opportunity, I don't give a fuck if you're like "My cat is an asshole and he just shit on my bottom stair because I didn't open the door and let him out quick enough but....at least I know he isn't constipated. And he's kinda cute. Yea ok. He's more than cute and he loves me."

If you can find love and positivity in a negative situation then imagine what greatness could come from you slowing down in life and focusing on finding the good even in the worst. Which by the way, just in case you didn't know, kindness and love can be found in EVERYTHING.

Only fools rush in. You're a bigger fool if you continue to allow yourself to go at max speed, racing through the streets of your life, never stopping to allow something new to take root. Never taking an unfamiliar road just to see what is down it. Never slowing down to notice the fine print, the finest of the fine details that will make the biggest impacts in your life.

Slow the fuck down yea? Enjoy this life experience. You won't get another one like it.

As always

Live Love. And eat tacos.
