How are morals and values defined by you? To me, morals and values are the facts to which I live my life by. The rules that I have set forth in order to allow myself to live a happy and blissful life. The very core of who I am and who I aspire to be. When I start making choices that don't align with those morals and values, frankly, I become a person I don't know and I continue to go off into a direction, down a path, that I don't really want to be down. But somehow I'm pulled in that direction either by needs I think I have or simply...by lies. Lies I tell myself based off of what I'm told needs to happen in order for me to be successful. Lies, aka rules, that don't align with my core morals and values and that realistically only hold me back, restricting me from truly and authentically LIVING.

We all get off course sometimes. We all make bad decisions and we all have to deal with the potential consequences of those decisions. People who live by the morals and values they set forth for themselves, although sometimes difficult in the moment, is ultimately a much easier and happier journey for those individuals. Why?

Simply put, it's easier for those people because they are living their life according to their standards; they are living their own truth with the morals and values they chose to live by. They are living to BE happy not to make everyone else happy. Are you?

What if you're not? What if you keep making choices that don't align with your morals and values what is going to happen? To be honest you're not going to be happy. You're not going to be actually living your life but instead just existing within a life that wasn't made for you. Living by other rules that society, your parents, your friends or other family members have set forth for you without you even knowing. We are all conditioned from birth by our family and the people that cared for us. Most of us were told how to act, eat, when to sleep, talk, share opinions. We were told what to believe and what we needed to do in order to make our family proud and be successful.

But what if you "grow up" and you're doing all these things everyone told you to do but you're still not satisfied with your life, with yourself? What happens then? Most people will eventually fall under the pressure trying to please everyone else and living under the standards that were set forth for their lives.

But what might happen if you challenge those words that have been told to you since you were born? What would happen if you said no; that you would not live by the standards your parents or family have told you to live by? In your head you might feel as though you are drowning, falling into a pit so deep you know you're never going to get out. And to be honest if you keep following the path that others have laid out for you that pit very well may become reality and swallow you whole.

But what if I told you that you didn't have to live your life by rules that you didn't make? What if I told you that your entire life is your choice. What if I said that there were ways for you to actually be happy and live your life the way you want to with morals and values that don't create a ball of anxiety in your stomach as you're conquering them? Don't believe me? I used to be like you. Living for others, living by their morals, values, and standards. I used to think that I had no choice and I just needed to do what everyone else wanted me to do in order to be happy and successful. I used to live for trying to make others happy because I thought that's what would make me happy. I was codependent on so many things back then but I was able to finally wake up and smell the fresh journey and optimism in life after a mental breakdown and reassessment of my life.

And now here I am, sharing the wisdom that was bestowed upon me through trial and error of my own life. You have choices too, so many in fact, that its absurd to rationally think that we only can live by the rules that are told to us or passed down to us through generations or by society.

So live your live by your own rules without disregarding the Golden Rule of treat others the way you want to be treated. You want to live your life but without harming or hurting others intentionally, although that hurt will come in time and simply because you aren't living your life by the rules others set forth anymore. Because you know better. Because you found the tools in order to help you get to your end result. Because you KNOW that you don't have to live your life according to what others say. Because you know you have CHOICES.

Embrace life and love and live according to YOU.

You have the CHOICE to CHANGE
